When Maddie O'Donnell's uncle, Hank, cut her and her mother off when Maddie was just a child, she never wanted to hear from him again. But after receiving the news of his passing, Maddie discovers that he left his fishing business on an isolated island in the Atlantic Ocean to her - not that she wants it. Maddie heads to Lowell Island with plans to sell off her uncle's assets, but upon her arrival comes face to face with someone she did not expect.

Hank was the father Hale Franklin never had. Upon grieving his loss, Hale learns that their business that he was supposed to assume has been left to Hank's niece - all because Hank never updated his will. Her plans to sell it off will surely destroy all of Hale's hard work, and Hale is certain he's never hated anyone as much as he hates Maddie.

Amidst their battle of wills, both their love lives are unexpectedly derailed, leaving only each other to trust. And when a dangerous storm descends on the island, that might be the only thing to save them.
